SEROLOGICAL TEST (Rapid test)
It does not detect the virus directly, but rather identifies the IgM and IgG antibodies present in our blood or plasma when we become ill with COVID-19.
If the sample reveals a high amount of antibodies, the test is positive. This means that a person has or recently had the disease.

MOLECULAR TEST. (Known as PCR)
It is based on the analysis of the RNA of the virus.
A sample of discharge is taken from the patient's nose or back of the throat.
* RNA or ribonucleic acid, transfers the genetic material of certain viruses, such as SARS-COV-2.
The exam takes hours because it is a process that takes place in 24 hours.

Antigen
The Covid-19 Antigen test (Diagnosis) is recommended for the initial phase of the disease, allowing the necessary measures to be taken for isolation and patient care quickly.
It detects the antigen in the first 7 days of the onset of infection in a nasopharyngeal sample. The result is reported the same day in less than 24 hours.
This test is endorsed as a diagnostic test by the Gorgas Memorial Institute.
